What To Post on Social Media During Quarantine?

I don’t know about you, but COVID-19 has changed pretty much every aspect of my life, stopped my corner of the world in its tracks and basically taken over my social media feed. Personally I try to avoid the negativity, fake news, and general craziness but if you own an online business (or any business for that matter) you may be wondering what to do with your social media pages during this unprecedented time.
The fact of the matter is that we don’t know how long this will last. It could be a few more weeks or it may be months depending on where you are located in the world and many other factors. So, even if you have a backlog of photos from photoshoots it may not be enough.
Believe it or not, right now is an EXCELLENT time to grow your brand on social media. People are more active right now. A good portion of us are at home and all of a sudden have a lot of time on our hands. With that extra time, people are spending more time on social media. As a business owner or brand, this is the perfect time to leverage the opportunity for extra eyes on your content. Take this time to perfect your social media strategy.
Here are a few ideas of things you can post without leaving your home.
Get Personal
We are all going through something, because of this collective experience we can all relate to each other during this time. Even though we all have unique aspects of our experience, it brings some people comfort to see how others are getting through it.
Take this time to get personal with your audience and share with them how you are really doing. Share with them the good days and the bad days. Opening up to your audience will not only help them get to know you better but they will also feel more connected to you.
Work From Home Tips
Do you usually work from home? Share some of your tips! There are a lot of people who are working from home for the first time ever and feel like a fish out of water. Give them a helping hand!
The Front Door Project
Have you noticed the recent trend of photographers participating in the #frontdoorproject? Basically a professional photographer will come out and take photos of you and your family from the sidewalk (Yay social distancing!) Not only is this a really awesome way to support small businesses during this time the results are absolutely adorable.
Share Your Project
Do you have a project you are working on during your time at home? Maybe you are learning a new skill or knocking off some of those craft projects you have been saving on Pinterest and meaning to do. Regardless of what your project may be, share it with your followers. If it is a big project, share the progress of it as you go long. You could even do a few Instagram Lives to show your progress in real-time.
SOCIAL Distancing
How are you staying social during this time? If you are participating in any group Zoom calls, take a selfie with your online friends and share it!
Inspirational and Motivational Posts
Like it or not, these are hard times for many of us. Try to share uplifting and motivational content. You can do this by sharing quotes, pictures of your day to day life with a well thought out caption, or any other photos along those lines.
