7 Ways To Grow Your Instagram Organically

Instagram as have 1 billion users and that number is growing every single day. Right now, Instagram is the best platform for boosting your brand and engaging with your ideal clients/customers.

Did you know 200 million users visit at least one business profiles a day and 80% of those users are following at least one business? So, basically, that means having pull on Instagram can contribute to the growth of your bussiness or brand.

As a Brand of Business, it is important to recognize that Instagram is extremely competitive. You have to focus on building a profile that is appealing to your ideal audience. How do you do this you may ask? It seems like everyone has an answer to this, but I think we can all agree that the first step is creating meaningful content that speaks to your ideal audience and that they will engage with.

Focus On The Content

Instagram is a visual platform, because of that, photos that are more visually compelling will perform better. The same goes for text. Make sure your text is interesting and helpful.

High-quality, value-adding content that is relevant to your brand will help you build a loyal following on Instagram.

Go For The Videos

Video content is the way to go on social media right now. It is eye-catching and gets a lot of attention. Try to flex your creative muscles and utilize this to engage with your target audience.

Treat Your Instagram Profile As a Micro-Blog or Mini Web Page

Make sure every aspect of your profile (bio, profile picture, content, web links, ect) accurately represents your brand or business

Create An Aesthetic For Your Brand

All of your posts, stories, and highlight sections should reflect your brand aesthetic. The goal is for people to recognize your posts without context.

A good way to do this is to establish 2-3 brand colors and 1-2 fonts. Then use those colors and fonts on every graphic you put together for your business.

Use Relevant Hashtags

Making sure you are using the right number and combination of relevant hashtags can considerably increase the reach of your post. Each post should have between 25 and 30 hashtags. You can use tools like Smarthash to track how each hashtag is performing.

Remember, the right hashtags may not result in a huge number of “likes” but it will attract the type of followers you are looking for. At the end of the day connecting with the right people will benefit your business more than connecting with a lot of people.

Engage With Your Audience

Instagram is all about being social. Take a few moments to comment on other peoples posts (I try to do 5 each time I check the app) and reply to every single comment someone leaves on your page. Check out the Instagram post I wrote about this very topic!

Instagram Stories’ has other really awesome features (like inbuilt Quiz, Poll Stickers, and more) that you can use to ask your audience questions and engage with them.

Create an Instagram Strategy

Let’s face it, flying blind with Instagram just isn’t doing it anymore. Use Instagram Analytics to find out which pots do well and what is the best time for you to post. Take note of what kind of content your audience responds to better. If you always get more likes on photos with pictures of you then you do pictures of quotes incorporate more pictures of you into your content.

At the end of the day, social media is constantly changing and evolving. Keep an open mind when it comes to your social media and stay flexible. If you remain authentic to your brand the right followers will come.
